1. Raw material preparation
The raw materials of stainless steel strip are usually stainless steel coils or strips, which have specific chemical composition and physical properties to meet the requirements of subsequent processing and final products.
2. Pickling
Pickling is the first step in the manufacture of stainless steel strip, which aims to remove impurities such as scale, grease, rust, etc. on the surface of the raw materials in preparation for subsequent processing. Pickling usually uses acidic solutions such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid or nitric acid to remove surface contaminants through chemical reactions.
3. Rolling
Rolling is a key step in the manufacturing process of stainless steel strip. According to the thickness of the raw material and the required finished product thickness, the rolling process can be divided into normal temperature rolling (cold rolling) and high temperature rolling (hot rolling).
Normal temperature rolling (cold rolling): The stainless steel coil is rolled multiple times at room temperature to obtain the required thickness and width. Cold-rolled steel strip has high strength and good surface quality, but may have poor ductility.
High temperature rolling (hot rolling): The stainless steel coil is rolled at high temperature, usually heated above the recrystallization temperature of the steel. Hot-rolled steel strip has lower hardness and good ductility, but the surface quality may not be as good as that of cold-rolled steel strip.
4. Process lubrication
During the rolling process, lubricants are usually added to reduce friction, improve production efficiency and protect the rollers. The selection and amount of lubricants depend on the rolling conditions, the chemical composition of the raw materials and the desired quality of the finished product.
5. Annealing
Annealing is a heating and cooling process to improve the mechanical properties and processing properties of stainless steel strips. Annealing can eliminate the stress and deformation generated during the rolling process, improve the plasticity and toughness of the steel strip, and also help improve the surface quality.
6. Leveling
Leveling is to make the surface of stainless steel strip smoother and improve the appearance quality through mechanical or chemical methods. The leveling process can also further eliminate the minor deformations and defects generated during the rolling process.
7. Precision cutting
According to the customer's specific size requirements, the stainless steel strip is precisely cut. The precision cutting process usually uses high-precision cutting equipment to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the finished product.
8. Packaging
The finished stainless steel strip is packaged to prevent oxidation and contamination. Packaging materials usually include plastic film, moisture-proof paper or metal packaging, etc. The specific choice depends on the storage and transportation conditions of the product.
9. Delivery
Finally, the packaged stainless steel strip is delivered to the customer. During the delivery process, it is usually necessary to provide product quality certification documents, instructions for use, and related technical support and services.
In summary, the manufacturing process of stainless steel strip is a complex and delicate process involving multiple steps and links. By strictly controlling the process parameters and quality requirements of each step, high-quality stainless steel strips that meet customer requirements can be produced.
