1. Definition and classification

Definition: Carbon steel pipe is made of steel ingot or solid round steel through perforation into rough tube, and then hot rolled, cold rolled or cold drawn.

Classification: Carbon steel pipe is mainly divided into two categories: hot rolled and cold rolled (drawn). Hot rolled carbon steel pipe includes general steel pipe, low and medium pressure boiler steel pipe, high pressure boiler steel pipe, alloy steel pipe, stainless steel pipe, petroleum cracking pipe, geological steel pipe, etc.; cold rolled (drawn) carbon steel pipe includes carbon thin wall steel pipe, alloy thin wall steel pipe, stainless thin wall steel pipe, special shaped steel pipe, etc. in addition to the above types.

2. Specifications and dimensions

Hot rolled seamless pipe: the outer diameter is generally greater than 32mm, and the wall thickness is between 2.5-75mm.

Cold rolled seamless steel pipe: the outer diameter can reach 6mm, the minimum wall thickness can reach 0.25mm, the outer diameter of thin wall pipe can reach 5mm, and the wall thickness is less than 0.25mm. Cold rolled steel pipe has higher dimensional accuracy than hot rolled steel pipe.

4.Manufacturing process

The raw material is a round tube billet, which is made by cutting, heating, perforating, rolling or extruding, de-tube sizing, cooling, straightening, flaw detection and other processes.

Hot-rolled steel pipes are delivered in hot-rolled or heat-treated state; cold-rolled steel pipes are delivered in heat-treated state.
